SK Group will show the present and future of world-class eco-friendly carbon reduction technology with global partners at "CES 2023" to be held in Las Vegas, USA from January 5 to 8 (local time). SK will showcase about 40 related new technologies and products at this CES.
SK announced today that SK and its eight subsidiaries will operate an exhibition hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) during CES under the theme of "Together in Action, Moving toward a Carbon-Free Future."
SK, SK Innovation, SK E&S, SK Hynix, SK Telecom, SK Eco Plant, SKC, and SK Biopharmaceuticals participate in this pavilion.
In particular, 10 partners, including US Plug Power, Terra Power, and Plastic Energy, which SK invests in or has a cooperative relationship with, will also participate to show off the technological prowess of the global carbon neutral alliance.
At CES 2022 held in January of last year, SK Group announced that it would reduce 1% (200 million tons) of the global carbon reduction target by 2030. At CES 2023, "Together in Action" was set as the topic, expressing the will to take action for carbon reduction.
The SK Group pavilion is divided into two zones: "Futuremarks" and "SK, Around Every Corner".
The first "Futuremarks" section realistically shows the bleak future that humanity will face if it does not act properly against the climate crisis through state-of-the-art media art images.
Visitors will experience with their eyes and ears a virtual image of landmarks in major cities around the world, such as the Statue of Liberty in New York and the Big Ben clock tower in London, being submerged in water due to sea level rise.
The main exhibition hall "SK, Around Every Corner" area was decorated as a space where you can directly experience various carbon reduction solutions and actions of SK and its global partners.
This zone shows the image of a future city in which SK's net zero technology is embodied in everyday life, divided into six themes: Clean Mobility, Zero Carbon Lifestyle, Waste to Resources, Air Mobility, Green Digital Solution, and Future Energy.
SK and its partners will showcase more than 40 eco-friendly technologies and products at the main exhibition hall, ranging from state-of-the-art batteries, Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Small Modular Reactor (SMR), hydrogen value chain, and sustainable food.
In addition, the company will hold a "Tech Day" on January 5-6 to unveil its net zero technology and business blueprint.
Meanwhile, Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, and about 10 top executives from each affiliate will attend this CES.
On January 5, Chairman Chey plans to observe cutting-edge technology trends such as eco-friendly solutions by visiting the SK Group pavilion as well as major companies outside of South Korea.
