Hyosung Group announced today that Young Friends of the Museum (YFM) won a bid for a South Korean Joseon Dynasty Najeon that had been leaked to another country and donated it to the National Museum of Korea.
YFM is chaired by Hyosung Group Vice Chairman Cho Hyun-sang. The donation ceremony was held at the National Museum of Korea on the same day.
This donation was made through donations steadily raised by YFM members under the leadership of Vice Chairman Cho, the chairperson.
Last year, when the Najeon of the Joseon Dynasty, which has high value as a cultural property, was auctioned off, it bid and succeeded in winning the bid.
This Najeon is evaluated as a masterpiece that shows the characteristics of Najeonchilgi craft in the Joseon Dynasty in the 16th century.
It measures 31.0 (length) X 46.0 (width) cm and is estimated to be used to store valuables or stationery.
Najeonchilgi produced at this time is not in large quantities, so the donation of YFM this time has a greater meaning.
Meanwhile, YFM was founded in 2008 by six young executives who love our culture, including Hyosung Group Vice Chairman Cho Hyun-sang and Taeyoung Group Chairman Yoon Seok-min.
YFM took the lead in purchasing and donating South Korean cultural assets that have been leaked overseas, purchasing and donating various cultural assets.
