Research In Motion (RIM) released a comment proclaiming that it has acquired the company, The Astonishing Tribe, to assist in the creation of a better interface design and RIM smartphone development.
In past years, RIM boasted as being the leader in mobile phone technology; however, once Apple's iPhone hit the market, RIM gained a rival. iPhones have been flying off the shelves due to the friendlier interface. As a result, RIM is pushing to improve itself and believes that The Astonishing Tribe will advance them in ways to regain the power it once had in the market.
The Astonishing Tribe describes itself as "growing group of engineers, visual artists and interaction designers who eat, sleep, and breathe user interfaces." It portrays itself as company with high potential due to the composition of people who could turn the weakness of RIM into the strength.
Although The Astonishing Tribe is a small company, its contribution to RIM is expected to be full. Look out for the phones that debut from this competitive dual!
