According to the South Korean cosmetics industry, Kolmar Korea plans to build an additional cosmetics manufacturing plant in Oliphant, Pennsylvania, USA.
Kolmar Korea entered the US market in 2016 by acquiring a cosmetics manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania.
The existing Kolmar USA production plant in the US has been producing color cosmetics, but the second plant to be newly established is expected to focus on basic cosmetics.
Currently, Kolmar Korea is operating factories in three overseas locations, including the United States, China, and Canada. The Kolmar USA plant, a US subsidiary, produces about 163 million products on a total floor area of 17,850 square meters.
The Kolmar Canada plant produces 102 million units on a total floor area of 10,578 square meters, and the Chinese plant produces a total of 652 million units.
In South Korea, the company operates a factory in Bucheon with a floor area of 9,757 square meters and a factory in Sejong with a floor area of 34,651 square meters. The two factories have an annual production capacity of 587 million units.
Meanwhile, the Sejong plant plans to apply artificial intelligence technology to the production process to increase production and establish a halal guarantee system to prepare for demand in the Middle East and Southeast Asian halal markets.
