HJSC wins the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Campus Construction Project

HJSC Construction Business announced it is continuing its aggressive business expansion by successfully winning civil engineering project for residential, research and backup facilities of Korea Institute of Energy Technology(KENTECH) campus from the beginning of the year. 

It’s the large-scale project won after the New Bundang Line Gwanggyo-Homaesil Double Track Railway Zone 1 construction Project(427 Billion KRW)
 
Total contract prices is 180.6 Billion KRW(including VAT) and the equity of HJSC is 90%. The project period is 34 months and the construction will start this month and be completed at the end of 2025. 

Ordered by Public Procurement Service, the construction project selected HJSC as the successful bidder through the comprehensive screening system evaluating overall abilities of bidders including construction ability, price proposal and implementation of social responsibilities as the enterprise.
 
KENTECH is the only research-oriented college specialized in energy in the world, which is supported by KEPCO in accordance with the reflection of ‘KENTECH Construction Plan’(tentative name) on the five-year government operation plan of Korea government in 2017. 

KENTECH is in Bitgaram Innovation City in Naju, Jeollanam-do. Only key facility is opened at present. KENTECH started operation in March 2022 as admitting the entrance of new students for the first time in 2022.
 
The project own by HJSC is implemented on total area of 109,489㎡. It comprises Stage 2 Construction for residential facilities including dormitory, day care center and restaurant and Stage 3 Construction for research building, library and student union. 

The buildings will be mainly zero energy buildings and eco-certified buildings including the best green building certification. The project will be completed at the end of 2025 when four-grader system is completed.

When the project is completed, the bidding for additional project will start for long-term facilities to be built by 2020 including convention center, gymnasium and accommodation for faculties.
 
Since the change of its name from Hanjin Heavy Industries in Jan. 2022, HJSC has been enhancing its fame as the construction specialist as building lots of education and research facilities. 

Recently, HJSC completed the construction of business research center in Incheon Industry-Academy Collaboration Zone, KIST research building and Hanseong University general building.
 
An official of HJSC said, “HJSC will devote itself on construction for KENTECH to secure the facility infrastructure to be the world-best research and education institute on the basis of the construction knowhow and diffrentiated technologies of HJSC accumulated for 55 years.”
