Ssangyong E&C recently announced the completion of Atlantis The Royal, a world-class luxury hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The project, which took about 80 months to complete, is a massive undertaking that includes three 44-story super-luxury hotels with 791 rooms and three 39-story high-end residences with 231 households.
Situated on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah, the total construction cost of the hotel is $1.254 billion (1.55 trillion won), and it boasts a total of 94 swimming pools, including a super-luxury pool that is even higher than the infinity pool.
All hotel rooms offer a signature penthouse room with a private infinity pool and stunning views of Dubai's Gulf Coast.
The Dubai Investment Authority (ICD), a UAE sovereign wealth fund that was the largest shareholder of Ssangyong E&C in 2015, commissioned the project.
Ssangyong E&C and Besix in Belgium jointly won the order as the project manager in December 2015.
"The completion of the project demonstrates our status as the No. 1 construction company in overseas high-end construction performance," said an official from Ssangyong E&C. "We plan to actively pursue more high-end construction orders in Dubai and the Middle East in the future."
