For the sixth year consecutively, LG Electronics (LG) has received the Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Performance Award, highlighting the consistent high quality of LG’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions. To achieve the award, every model chosen by AHRI for testing must pass all evaluations for three straight years.
AHRI is a reputable global trade association that represents the world’s HVAC, refrigeration, and water heating solution manufacturers. Founded in 1953, AHRI has over 350 member companies.
Intertek, one of the world’s most trustworthy third-party standards, certification, and testing organizations, conducts most of AHRI Performance Award evaluations to ensure the highest standard of testing. Intertek runs a comprehensive battery of assessments on selected products to ascertain if the actual performance aligns with the manufacturer's specifications.
All 67 LG HVAC solutions submitted for testing passed AHRI’s rigorous evaluations for the third year in a row (2020 to 2022), representing seven product categories. These categories include Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERV), Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF), Unitary Small Heat Pump (USHP), Water-Cooled Chillers (WCCL), Air-Cooled Chillers (ACCL), Room Fan Coil (RFC) air conditioners, and Packaged Terminal Heat Pumps (PTHP).
One of the LG products evaluated for the AHRI Performance Award is the LG Multi V large-capacity outdoor unit, which utilizes LG’s proprietary Ultimate Inverter Compressor to provide a robust, energy-efficient performance. LG's flagship VRF system is popular with customers worldwide, particularly in Northern Hemisphere countries where winters can be bitterly cold, providing dependable heating operation in temperatures as low as negative 30 degrees Celsius (negative 22 degrees Fahrenheit).
The air-cooled Inverter Scroll Chiller, another product tested, employs LG’s advanced inverter technology to obtain a high level of operational efficiency. Besides its impressive performance, the chiller has a compact design that takes up less space than other models in its class, allowing customers greater installation flexibility.
LG’s ERV solution also earned the award for the first time, replacing still and stagnant indoor air with clean filtered air from outside. It is equipped with a heat exchanger that significantly reduces hot air loss while helping to lower heating and cooling costs. Furthermore, when connected with a system air conditioner, it manages energy consumption and indoor air quality to ensure optimal comfort and efficient operation.
