S-OIL, led by CEO Hussain A. Al-Qahtani, announced on March 7 that it will deliver 30 million won in consolation money to the bereaved family of the late firefighter Seong Gong-il (30) of Gimje Fire Station, who died during the fire suppression of a house in Jeollabuk-do Province.
The late firefighter Seong was dispatched to the scene of a fire at a house in Cheongdo-ri, Geumsan-myeon, Gimje-si, Jeollabuk-do, at around 8:33 p.m. the previous day, and suffered a regrettable accident while extinguishing and saving lives.
An S-OIL official said, "We pray for the repose of a firefighter who suffered an accident while dedicated to protecting the safety and lives of the people, and express our deep condolences to the bereaved family. We hope the S-OIL's consolation money will help the bereaved family overcome their sadness and live a stable life.
S-OIL signed a 'Fire Hero Guard' agreement with the Fire Services Agency in 2006. Since then, it has continued systematic sponsorship activities such as hero firefighters' commendation, consolation money for the bereaved families of firefighters who died on duty, and student support camps.
