The President of SK IE Technology (SKIET), Kim Cheol-jung, is taking action to ensure growth opportunities for the company by visiting Korean and overseas production bases.

On March 17th, SKIET announced that President Kim had conducted his Management by Wandering Around (MBWA) approach by visiting the battery separator factory in Changzhou, China from March 13th to 15th.

He met with key local officials and encouraged SKIET’s local members in China who have been struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. He also expressed gratitude for the local government officials' support for the company and secured continued cooperation.

During his visit, President Kim met with Chen Jinhu, the general-secretary of Changzhou, to discuss potential cooperation. He also inspected the manufacturing lines at SKIET's Changzhou plant and communicated with Chinese business site members.

The Changzhou plant is one of SKIET's major global production bases, along with plants in Jeungpyeong (Korea) and Śląsk (Poland). The plant has a battery separator manufacturing capacity of 670 million m2 per year and has been supplying quality products to customers, including batteries used in approximately 950,000 electric vehicles.

President Kim took the helm of SKIET in December last year and identified the establishment of a global supply system as a crucial task for securing the company's competitive advantage. He plans to visit SKIET's business site in Poland in the first half of this year to examine the European battery separator market and accelerate sales expansion based on the global supply system.

President Kim stated, “SKIET needs to expand its customer portfolio by providing customers with comprehensive values created from its technology, cost competitiveness, and global supply system,” and he added, “In order to achieve essential tasks of the company, it will continuously strive to improve the competitiveness of the global production bases in China, Poland and more.”
