Netmarble has announced the core features of "Meta World: My City", a metaverse-based real estate/board game, during the Game Developers Conference 2023 (GDC 2023) on March 21.
GDC is a yearly conference held in San Francisco, USA, where professionals from various fields in the gaming industry gather to share their knowledge and expertise in programming, art, production, game design, and business.
Netmarble showcased a session on 'Metaverse Ecosystem for Offline Booths and Game Users' through its subsidiary MARBLEX, which specializes in blockchain technology. During the session, the release of "Meta World: My City" was announced, and the core game features were revealed. The game is scheduled to be launched globally in the first half of this year, except in some countries such as Korea.
The avatar system, board game elements, meta world, various buildings and character cards, game goods, and token economy flow charts were introduced during the session. Future plans were also shared.
In "Meta World: My City", users can acquire meta cash through board game play, character card growth, and rewards in the meta world. Meta cash can be swapped for game tokens, which can then be exchanged for MBX, a public token, through the MBX Ecosystem Bridge Token.
