Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is promoting a future defense science and technology training program centered on the 4th industrial revolution technology in partnership with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) Security Convergence Institute.

This training was promoted in order for industry and academia to have a consensus on the direction of future advanced defense business development and to preemptively think about future technology research, application plans, and commercialization strategies.

As the beginning of the program, KAI conducted a state-of-the-art defense science and technology training at KAIST Munji Campus from March 21 to 23, where executives from all divisions, including President Kang Gu-young, directly participated.

The second round of training will be attended by key managers from the 28th to the 31st of this month. In the future, KAI plans to continue to shape the training program and expand training to all employees.

KAI and KAIST are conducting joint research on future core technologies, such as development of educational programs as well as research on satellite data analysis using AI and big data, and plan to expand technological cooperation to various future projects.

Through this training, KAI is concentrating its company-wide capabilities to enhance employees' insight into future businesses and create sustainable food for the next 30 to 50 years.

KAI announced the global KAI 2050 vision in January and declared 2023 as the first year to prepare for future business. The core of KAI's future business is the application of 4th industrial technology, such as 6th generation fighters with manned and unmanned combined systems, transport aircraft, AAVs for civil and military use, next-generation mobile helicopters, independent satellite platforms/satellite services, and space exploration mobility.

Experts from major research institutes including KAIST, Defense Science Research Institute (ADD), Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), Korea Institute for Intelligent Information Society (NIA), and Seoul National University Institute for Future Innovation participated in this training to learn about artificial intelligence, future fuel cells, and drones. We conducted customized training on core technologies linked to KAI's future businesses.
