Global startup INOfriends developed 'UR Code' as part of its vision to add digital to all products in the world. This cutting-edge digital technology, which can replace existing barcodes or QR codes, uses innovative 'LINE codes' made up of dots and lines, invisible 'INVISIBLE codes', and 'AI codes' based on artificial intelligence learning. Atypical UR code shapes such as triangles, circles, hearts, and stars enable activation authentication, distribution tracking, and customer database collection.
UR code is advantageous for production line optimization and efficient process management by improving the recognition speed and recognition angle of the product in comparison to existing QR codes or barcodes. It acts as a code that verifies the authenticity of a product, prevents counterfeiting between products and services, and provides additional product and event information to customers. Compared with other authentication technologies, the advantage of INO's UR code is that it is oriented toward an integrated SaaS platform code, allowing both manufacturers and consumers to access innovative methods of product integrity protection, authenticity verification and logistics distribution DX as easily as possible. The recognition speed of the UR code is faster than existing barcodes and QR codes, so the recognition speed is improved by up to 60%. Minimizing the size for easy recognition increases the price by up to 75% and the recognition angle by up to 4 times.
According to company officials, various functions such as improving safety and reliability through UR code, improving product recognition speed, strengthening security, digital marketing solution, and DB management help improve cost reduction with a new AI approach. CEO Kim Seong-su, who majored in mechanical engineering and industrial management at KAIST, won the KAIST Founding President Award and Grand Prize, served as NEMO Partners' IT general manager, and KAIST spin-off Rainbow Robotics team leader.
