Genesis BBQ had a chance to introduce BBQ chicken to the British delegation, including officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the London Stock Exchange, at the UK Night event held at the British Embassy in Korea on March 31st.
BBQ provided an opportunity to sample various menus at the event, including 11 types of BBQ chicken and 3 types of sides.
The UK delegation was made up of the London Exchange UK Department of Commerce, listing underwriters, law firms and accounting firm representative partners. On March 29, they visited Korea for the "business agreement for the vitalization of investment and listing in the UK" signed by the London Stock Exchange, Daegu City and Daegu Technopark.
During their visit to Korea, the delegation hoped for an opportunity to taste Korean-style chicken and beer, which they have become accustomed to, through OTT platforms and YouTube channels. The British Embassy in Korea accepted this and held a British night event on the last day of the visit and requested support such as a product demonstration at BBQ.
The British delegation tasted the BBQ chicken and responded, "It's a new feeling to be able to eat Korean-style chicken that I've seen through the media," "It tastes completely different from the chicken I eat in England," and "It's the most delicious chicken I've ever eaten."
A BBQ official said, "We hope that this event will be a meaningful time for British people to get closer to BBQ chicken.
Meanwhile, BBQ participated as an official sponsor at the "London East Asia Film Festival (LEAFF)" held in London, England last October and spread BBQ chicken to world filmmakers through the opening gala show and bbq NIGHT.
In collaboration with "British Man", a popular YouTuber with 5.5 million subscribers, it was introduced as Korea's representative chicken franchise brand by providing BBQ chicken to local high school students in the UK. The video reached 1.94 million views in half a day after uploading, and has gained explosive popularity with 8.77 million views.
