Com2uS's summoning RPG "Summoners War: Chronicles" has achieved a significant milestone by climbing to the top 5 of the global PC game platform Steam's global total sales ranking, breaking its previous highest ranking record.
Since its global release, Chronicles has been a box office hit all over the world and has shown a steep growth trend, ranking 9th on the Steam global sales chart on March 24 and then entering the TOP 10 again on April 3, followed by TOP 5, setting the new record for the highest ranking.
The game has achieved sales of 30 billion won in just 25 days after its global release, and its popularity continues to rise, making it a long-term box office track in the global market.
Chronicles consistently ranks at the top of the rankings, going back and forth between first and second places in France, Belgium, and Thailand, and also recorded a local record of second place in Japan, the largest game market in Asia. In addition, it maintains records within the TOP 5 in 11 regions including Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.
It is expected that Chronicles will create a new large-scale global hit that continues the reputation of Summoners War IP, not only being biased to a specific country but also ranking high in major markets in the East and West and showing an unbroken upward trend.
“Although it may have been influenced by the Summoners War IP fandom effect in the early days of service, the current rise of Chronicles is itself proving its competitiveness in the global market," said Han Ji-hoon, head of Game Business Division at Chronicles. "In particular, Chronicles has a greater meaning in that it has expanded the market to the PC platform, and we expect to establish itself as a global representative work comparable to Summoners War.”
