On April 10th, Netmarble announced that it has achieved the APEC CBPR certification for global personal information protection.
This certification system evaluates and certifies a company's personal information protection system based on APEC privacy protection principles, which were jointly developed by APEC member countries to support the free and safe transfer of personal information between member countries.
Currently, nine countries, including Korea, the United States, Japan, and Singapore, participate in the certification, and around 60 global companies, including Apple, IBM, and HP, have acquired certification. Netmarble has been officially recognized for complying with privacy principles and establishing and operating a global standard personal information protection system.
This certification is particularly significant for Netmarble's entry into countries such as Japan and Singapore, which recognize personal information protection laws as a protection system at the same level as the personal information protection standards of their respective countries.
The APEC CBPR certification ensures safe and efficient personal information management without a separate procedure when entering into partnerships with companies located in those countries.
"I am proud to be recognized that Netmarble's personal information protection and management system meets international standards," said Jang Seok-eun, head of Netmarble's security office. "In addition to enjoyable game services, we will continue to make more efforts to provide reliable security services to global users.”
