High definition image providing DID that is based on Linux technology has been developed by the company Elivision and is thought to be a foreign currency digger. "Elivision is a networked real time digital information display. It can display high quality advertisement media content like photos and movies. The advertisement media content can be updated through a wired or wireless network, and each DID can be managed by a server. This standard type of player has three kinds of operation types. Wide area advertising with internet server, a stand-alone display that requires either CF card or USB, and real-time streaming display that uses a local server PC. The DID uses a simple and easy user application to manage the advertisement content, daily or monthly planners, messages, and pictures to name a few," President Ahn Deog-geun of Elivision Co. said.
Elivision developed a Linux technology based DID board to introduce various display products from photo frames to the DID itself. The product does not require an extra PC to run the display, and is highly noted for its WiFi network that runs in maximum of 80 meters from the AP. As the Korea IT Times introduced in an earlier issue, Elivision is also known for LCD Digital Point of Purchase (POP), POP Stands, POP LCD Sign Boards, and LCD Digital Photo Frames. The LCD Portrait Player of Elivision won the first place in the Brand Identity section of ITC 2008. The LCD Digital Photo Frame of Elivision is the first ever successful development of this young company. It occupied the 7 inch screen market. The previous products have been quite costly due to the need of personal computers. Elivision brought a solution to this matter as well by developing software that was controllable remotely. The software is being given away for free for whoever buys the products at the shops.
Elivision products are highly recognized both at home and abroad. Foreign countries including Denmark and France are in the process of export negotiations. "We rarely had any repair calls from the ones we distributed, and is being recognized as a dependable product. We finalized an 8 million dollar business deal at GITEX 2008 in Dubai and the products will soon be delivered to Abu Dhabi International Airport," Ahn said. Elivision, however, is not planning to settle with its glowing fame any time soon. "My goal is to complete the development of the Slim Digital Frame by January 2009 to take it to CES 2009 along with our DID products. It was a challenging year and half of development, but our hard work paid off and blew away all the bad memories from the past. We hope to meet a new crew who has the best to offer our company.
