Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics won awards in various categories at the 2023 iF Design Awards in Germany.
The iF Design Award, founded in 1953, evaluates products in nine categories, including Product, Packaging, Communication, Professional Concept, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Service Design, User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI).
Samsung Electronics has won 80 awards at the prestigious German iF Design Awards 2023, including a Gold Award for its Bespoke Infinite Line refrigerator and kitchen appliances.
“It is important to design meaningful experiences that integrate shifting customer values with innovative technologies,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Corporate Design Center at Samsung Electronics. “We will continue to contribute to our customers’ lives and our society with designs that cater to all needs.”
"The Bespoke Infinite Line is a premium built-in look refrigerator that is available in a choice of fridge, freezer or wine cellar models and features a timelessly contemporary modular design that seamlessly blends into any interior," said a Samsung official.
Samsung also received awards in the Product category for its Odyssey Ark, the world's first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming screen, the Bespoke Jet cordless stick vacuum with an all-in-one Clean Station, and the Galaxy Z Flip4 Bespoke edition, a smartphone that offers an exclusive customization experience.
Samsung's accessibility-enhanced TV UX and Samsung Space Tycoon were also recognized for design excellence.
LG Electronics also received 23 honors, including an iF Gold Award for Product Design bestowed on the LG PuriCare AeroFurniture, an air purifier that doubles as a side table and mood lamp.
The LG PuriCare AeroFurniture was among the award recipients, receiving an iF Gold Award for Product Design. The air purifier, which doubles as a side table and mood lamp, is compact and versatile, making it ideal for use in various settings, including bedrooms and living rooms. It provides personalized performance and design options, with the ability to choose from different color combinations and table-top types to suit any taste or home interior.
Other LG products recognized for their exceptional product design at the iF Design Award 2023 included the LG OLED Flex, a groundbreaking television with the world's first bendable 42-inch OLED screen, and the LG refrigerator with MoodUP™ technology, a next-generation home appliance with color-changing door panels that can be controlled through the LG ThinQ app. The LG gram Style, a powerful laptop with a sleek, elegant design that appears to change color depending on lighting and viewing angle, was also recognized by the judges.
The LG OMNIPOD was honored in the Product Concept category, offering new mobility experiences with a vehicle cabin that can serve as an extension of one's home. LG ThinQ, the company's smart home platform, was recognized in the Communication category for enhancing convenience by offering intuitive functions.
