On April 25, LG U+ announced the launch of a new U+ Serving Robot service that will utilize the company's latest robot, the LG CLOi ServeBot.
This service aims to improve the operational efficiency of stores by leveraging LG Electronics' robot technology, and enhance the customer experience of small business owners and restaurant owners. The Chloe robots will be able to safely deliver food and goods to customers while avoiding obstacles, thanks to the integration of AI and cameras.
The U+ Serving Robot service is expected to be widely used in the restaurant industry, as well as in other industries such as PC rooms, screen golf courses, hotels, and resorts.
The third-generation CLOi subbot added to the U+ serving robot lineup is equipped with six independent suspensions, lidar sensors, and 3D cameras that allow it to safely carry items weighing up to 40kg on a wider tray than existing products. This feature makes it safer to serve liquid-containing food in restaurants.
The new LG CLOi ServeBot can run for 11 consecutive hours when fully charged, and more than 10 robots can operate in the same space with direct communication between them. The robot also features a 10-inch display that provides various promotional videos and menu information to customers visiting the store.
It can also provide an escort to guide customers to empty seats. Additionally, the top of the robot is equipped with a Contents Management System (CMS) that allows users to easily upload content such as advertisements and menu boards.
The U+ serving robot can be used more conveniently in conjunction with table orders and call bells. If a customer orders food from a tablet PC menu on a table and calls a robot to a call bell after a meal, it can greatly reduce the movement of employees between the kitchen and the hall.
In addition, LG U+ plans to introduce a U+ serving robot mobile app. With this app, users can remotely send robots to specific tables or locations, as well as charging stations when necessary.
