Wemade, a prominent blockchain company in Korea, has introduced a new golf-themed NFT project called the Bored Ape Golf Club (BAGC) on its NFT Is Life Evolution (NILE) NFT and DAO platform. This project is an offshoot of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs that were launched in 2022 in partnership with Animoca Brands, The Sandbox, and Elite Apes. During the presale period, the BAGC project, which utilized approximately 110 BAYC NFTs, achieved a notable 40,000 concurrent users and debuted at popular Korean department stores through pop-up stores.
NILE has combined the NEITH Covenant with the BAGC project to release 300 unique "golf ball" BAGC NEITH NFTs, which will be available for purchase starting Thursday, May 4, 2023. These mystery box NFTs are divided into four categories (Eagle, Special, Hole-in-One, and Albatross) and offer various advantages to their owners, including access to golf country clubs and a voxelized character that is only awarded to Special Edition class NFT holders.
When purchasing a BAGC NFT, users will receive two NFTs: a BAGC NEITH profile picture (PFP) NFT and a MERCH NFT containing various BAGC sporting goods, such as t-shirts and boston bags. Sporting goods can be claimed from September 2023 onwards, and BAGC NEITH PFPs can be exchanged for a predetermined amount of WEMIX after the covenant date.
In the future, NILE and ALTAVA Group plan to collaborate on more blockchain initiatives that cater to both golfers and WEMIX holders.
