Hana Financial Group Launches 'Hana Financial Youth IT Academy' in Indonesia to Nurture Global IT Talents

Hana Financial Group annouced that it has launched the "Hana Financial Youth IT Academy" in Indonesia to nurture global IT talents. 

The launching ceremony was held at the St. Regis Hotel in Indonesia on May 11, where scholarships worth 10 billion rupiah, equivalent to KRW 900 million, were announced for students majoring in IT at Indonesia's leading universities, including the Indonesia National University, Bandung Institute of Technology, and Indonesia Hana Bank NEXT TI.

The academy is a comprehensive IT talent development program that includes participation in internships, IT training, and field trips at Hana Financial TI, as well as job opportunities at local corporations. The program will run for the next ten years and will provide significant support to foster excellent talents in the future.

Around 50 people attended the inauguration ceremony, including Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo, Financial Supervisory Service President Lee Bok-hyeon, Indonesian National University Dean Badrul Munir, Bandung Institute of Technology Khairunnisa Dean, and 30 student representatives from both universities. 

Ham Young-joo, chairman of Hana Financial Group, said, “Through this program, we will discover excellent IT talents who will lead digital finance and will spare no support to foster excellent talents in the future.”

Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group has been continuously expanding its social contribution activities that can coexist with local customers for the past 17 years. One of the programs includes awarding the "Hana Scholarship" worth US$520,000 to 973 Indonesian college students since 2006. 

In addition, the company continues various activities to nurture digital talent both globally and domestically. For instance, the “Hana Digital Power On Project” was launched in October 2022, jointly sponsored by the Financial Supervisory Service, Google, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft. The program aims to provide opportunities for new challenges and growth to the young generation and to nurture practical digital talent.
