CJ Foodville and BAZNAS, the largest Muslim donation organization in Indonesia, have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on a product donation program aimed at supporting vulnerable communities.
The donation program, initiated by CJ Foodville, is a partnership with BAZNAS, an organization affiliated with the Ministry of Religious Affairs in the Indonesian government. BAZNAS is widely recognized as the most trusted donation organization among local Muslims.
The signing ceremony, attended by Jeong Su-won, head of CJ Foodville Indonesia, along with BAZNAS vice president and officials, solidified the commitment to the donation program.
The program focuses on supporting underprivileged individuals in Indonesia by providing them with bakery products from Tous Les Jours, a brand under CJ Foodville. Tous Les Jours' donation vehicles will be mobilized throughout the year to deliver bread directly to various neighborhoods.
Through this agreement, CJ Foodville aims to donate over 200,000 pieces of Tous Les Jours bread to underprivileged Muslims in Indonesia this year, in collaboration with BAZNAS. Apart from its charitable efforts, Tous Les Jours also intends to enhance its brand image in Indonesia and demonstrate socially responsible management through this donation activity.
Meanwhile, Tous Les Jours made its entry into the Indonesian market in 2011 and currently operates a total of 52 stores in major cities across the country. Given that approximately 87% of Indonesia's population follows Islam, Tous Les Jours obtained HALAL certification in 2020, becoming the first domestic bakery industry player to do so. The brand has gained popularity in the country by adopting localization strategies such as exclusively selling halal-certified products in all its stores.
