Genesis BBQ Group, the largest chicken franchise in Korea, has announced its strategic expansion into the Central and South American market, utilizing Panama as a crucial entry point. The company aims to replicate its successful model from North America and establish a strong presence in this new territory.

On May 25, BBQ opened its inaugural branch in San Francisco, Panama City, the capital of Panama. To mark this momentous occasion, BBQ organized a media day, inviting prominent local outlets such as La Prensa and Medcom, along with 25 teams of social media influencers and 60 local customers. The event served as an opportunity to introduce the BBQ brand and its stores to the Panamanian market.

During the event, attendees had the pleasure of sampling BBQ's renowned menu, including their signature Golden Olive Chicken, accompanied by fruit soju, offering a delightful glimpse into Korean culture.

The newly launched San Francisco store is a Chicken & Beer establishment, boasting 62 seats within a spacious area of 198 square meters. Located in the heart of San Francisco, the store benefits from its proximity to commercial facilities, offices, and a vibrant dining scene. Situated on the ground floor of a street-style shopping mall, the store ensures convenient access for customers.

BBQ has ambitious plans to open its second store in Albrook Mall, Panama, in July, following the successful inauguration of its first store. The Albrook Mall branch will be situated in the mall's food court, leveraging the mall's reputation as the largest shopping center in Panama. With its strategic location near the Panama Domestic Airport, Bus Terminal, and Port, the branch is poised to attract both tourists and locals, providing an excellent platform to showcase the BBQ brand.

BBQ Chairman Yoon Hong-geun expressed his confidence in Panama's potential as a gateway to bridge the gap between North and South America. He stated, "With the opening of our second store next month, we anticipate Panama to become a crucial springboard for our expansion into the Central and South American market, generating synergy in our endeavors."

Meanwhile, BBQ operates over 700 stores across 57 countries, including the United States, Canada, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, and now Panama. Notably, the company has experienced rapid growth in the United States, captivating local palates with its distinctive flavors and exceptional quality.
