[Singapore] Beam, the Asia-Pacific (APAC) micromobility giant based in Singapore, has experienced significant growth in payments since partnering with Primer, the world's first payments and commerce infrastructure provider. This collaboration has facilitated Beam's expansion into five new international markets, allowing users to effortlessly pay and ride the company's fleet of electric scooters, bikes, and mopeds. With Primer's comprehensive ecosystem of merchants, payment providers, and processors, Beam users gain access to a wide range of payment methods, including local digital wallets and over-the-counter payments.

Streamlined Expansion into New Markets:
Through Primer's solution, Beam has successfully entered the markets of Indonesia, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia within the past year. By integrating local payment methods, Beam has simplified the payment process and significantly reduced the complexity associated with managing various payment preferences across diverse markets. Notably, in Indonesia, Beam has processed over 300,000 payments using Primer's connection with Xendit, a top payment processor in the country. This integration has enabled Indonesian Beam users to make payments through popular local methods such as ShopeePay, Dana, and Ovo.

Enhancing the User Experience:
Bhavin Shah, Beam's VP of Product Management, expressed how Primer's solution has streamlined their expansion efforts, enabling the company to focus on establishing a meaningful presence in new markets. For instance, in Australia and New Zealand, two of Beam's largest markets, Primer has facilitated smoother card and digital wallet payments, including ApplePay and GooglePay. This partnership has allowed Beam to unlock additional payment options for users, enhancing the overall user experience. The company looks forward to expanding its payment options in collaboration with Primer across more areas.

Primer's Contribution:
Primer's partnership with Beam has not only facilitated its expansion but also ensures a seamless payment process within the micromobility sector across APAC. By working closely with Beam's team, Primer has introduced new features and supported the rollout of Beam's services in various markets, guaranteeing frictionless payments. In Malaysia, for example, Primer has incorporated support for iPay88, a hyper-local payment service provider, offering Beam and its customers deep local market expertise. This collaboration highlights Primer's commitment to supporting Beam's rapid growth and developing innovative features to optimize payments.

The Power of Primer:
Founded in 2020 by PayPal alumni Paul Anthony and Gabriel Le Roux, Primer has emerged as a trusted partner for merchants worldwide. From medium-sized businesses to large enterprise merchants, Primer has assisted in overcoming complex digital payment challenges. By connecting various omnichannel payment and commerce options through its no-code technology, Primer aims to provide partners with comprehensive visibility and the ability to analyze and optimize transactions. Beam's commitment to routing a substantial amount of payments through Primer's network in Australia further underscores the effectiveness of Primer's solutions.

Beam's collaboration with Primer has been instrumental in its expansion into new markets and the seamless integration of diverse payment options. With Primer's support, Beam has witnessed remarkable growth and improved the user experience for its customers across APAC.

Experts view both companies are developing further connections and innovative features that will continue to drive Beam's success as a micromobility leader in the region.
