Doosan Group is making its foray into the North American market with its high-end Copper Clad Laminate (CCL) materials and products, aiming to attract new customers.
Doosan Group announced today that it will participate in the "International Microwave Symposium (IMS 2023)" to be held at the San Diego Convention Center in the United States from June 13 to 15.
As the largest radio frequency (RF) and microwave-related exhibition in North America, IMS is organized by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and boasts participation from approximately 550 companies this year.
During the exhibition, Doosan Group plans to showcase several cutting-edge CCL offerings, including CCL tailored for 5G/6G communication, CCL designed for radio frequency package type (RF-SiP) systems, and CCL developed specifically for Automotive Radar, a critical component of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
These materials possess exceptional characteristics such as low dielectric loss and low loss, facilitating reduced communication propagation loss and efficient processing of large volumes of data.
Of particular note is the utilization of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resin material, developed by Doosan Group, as the insulation layer material for CCL. This innovation enables its application in millimeter wave (mmWave) technology and 6G networks.
In addition to the CCL products, Doosan Group will also present its 5G antenna modules and Micro-electromechanical System (MEMS) Oscillators.
The 5G antenna module serves as a crucial component of a 5G wireless repeater, incorporating functions such as signal transmission, reception, and frequency conversion. By implementing beamforming antenna technology, this module minimizes signal interference between users and enables the transmission of 5G signals in the desired direction, ultimately resulting in exceptional communication quality.
Doosan Group currently engages in mass production of 5G antenna modules for the 28GHz frequency band, suitable for use in Japan, the US, China, as well as all domestic mobile carriers.
Additionally, the company produces antenna modules for the 26GHz frequency band, targeting the markets in India and Australia. Doosan Group is also collaborating with its partner company, Movandi, to verify the mass production of antenna modules for the 39GHz frequency band.
