NCSoft (NC) has announced the release of a video content series titled "Be Human" on June 14.
This series aims to explore the role of humans in the era of generative AI, offering a fresh perspective on this technology through the insights of renowned scholars. It serves as a follow-up to NC's previously released "AI Framework," which aimed to enhance leadership and ethics in the AI era.
The inaugural episode of "Be Human" features Professor Tod Machover from the MIT Media Lab. Professor Machover, recognized as one of the most innovative composers in the United States, delves into the essence of creativity and the coexistence of humans in the age of generative AI from the perspective of a creator.
Another prominent scholar highlighted in the series is Professor Choi Jae-chun, the Chair Professor at Ewha Womans University and an outside director of NC. Professor Choi explores generative AI through the lens of evolution. He emphasizes the importance of viewing technology from the perspective of diversity, akin to nature's providence, rather than engaging in discussions of superiority or inferiority between humans and AI.
NC has released two installments of the "Be Human" series this month, with plans to continue the series in the second half of the year with the release of the third episode. James Landay, the Associate Director of Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) at Stanford University, will be featured in the upcoming episode, discussing the ethical considerations and guidelines necessary in the age of generative AI.
“NC continued activities such as communication and joint research with external organizations, and AI ethics research sponsorship to spread social awareness of AI ethics as well as AI technology R&D," said Park Myung-jin, Principal Corporate Brand Officer (PBO) of NC. "I hope this ‘Be Human’ series can present a new perspective on technology in the age of generative AI.”
