On June 8, Korean Air emerged as the leader in the air passenger transportation service sector, securing the first place at the prestigious 2023 Global Customer Satisfaction Index (GCSI) awards.

The GCSI awards, organized by the esteemed Global Management Association (GMA), aim to honor the finest corporations in Korea across various categories. The evaluation process takes into account customer satisfaction levels, global competitiveness, and customer loyalty.

Korean Air has consistently been acknowledged in the passenger service sector since 2005 for its unwavering commitment to improving customer service. The airline has achieved this by introducing new inflight services and incorporating cutting-edge aircraft into its fleet.

In its quest to diversify the inflight menu, Korean Air now offers a range of new traditional Korean dishes alongside Korean-style vegan meals inspired by the country's traditional temple cuisine. These culinary options are meticulously crafted using a wide array of fresh and seasonal ingredients.

To elevate the dining experience further, Korean Air has collaborated with Marc Almert, a world-renowned sommelier, to curate a selection of exceptional wines. Passengers in the Prestige Class can also preselect their meals on international flights departing from Korea.

Moreover, Korean Air remains committed to reducing carbon emissions and maintaining a modern fleet by introducing a series of next-generation aircraft. By 2027, the airline plans to operate 30 A321neo aircraft, and by 2028, they aim to add a total of 90 new aircraft to their fleet, including single aisle Airbus A321neos, Boeing 737-8s, Boeing 787-9s, and -10s.

Korean Air has pioneered the provision of lie-flat beds in business class on the A321neo, ensuring optimum comfort even on narrowbody single-aisle aircraft. Additionally, passengers can enjoy a vast selection of over 300 movies and popular K-content through the inflight entertainment system, which is regularly updated to provide hours of entertainment.

The airline has also introduced Wi-Fi services on its international routes served by the Boeing 737-8 fleet, with plans to expand this offering to other aircraft types in the near future.

Meanwhiel, in December of last year, Korean Air received the consumer-centered management (CCM) certification from the Korean Fair Trade Commission. Furthermore, for the second time, The airline has been awarded a prestigious five-star rating by Skytrax, a world-renowned airline consulting and evaluation firm.
