This traditional Swarm event brings together blockchain leaders and political activists to discuss ‘Power to the People through decentralization

[Neuchâtel, Switzerland] The Swarm Foundation, a non-profit promoting the development and maintenance of the Swarm Network, has announced the agenda for its Swarm Summit. Running from 21-23 June, the three-day immersive virtual event connects pioneering Web3 projects with the industry’s most influential leaders and visionaries to explore the infinite possibilities of blockchain decentralization.

Building on the success of Swarm’s Winter Solstice event in 2022, which attracted over 600 stakeholders, this summer’s Swarm Summit is set to be the largest conference yet organized by the Foundation, signifying the monumental growth of Swarm’s ecosystem. At the event, attendees will gain access to exclusive information about upcoming partnerships in the Swarm ecosystem, and have the privilege of engaging with esteemed experts driving innovation with decentralized technologies. Aligning with the underscoring theme of ‘Power to the People, guests can expect thought-provoking discussions and product integration demos showcasing the pivotal use cases for decentralized technologies built on the Swarm Network, including AI dApps, NFTs, DAOs, privacy, content collaboration, and political advocacy.

Kicking off a jam-packed agenda, Russian artist, political activist, and Pussy Riot founder Nadya Tolokonnikova will lead a session on the importance of censorship resistance. Other speakers at the event include Črt Ahlin from DataFund; Elad Verbin from Berlin Innovation Ventures; Silur, co-founder of the QAN platform and co-organizer of the HacktivityCon ‘Capture the Flag’ event; and Alexander Shedogubov from Envelop DAO. The event will also feature presentations from Kiwix, an open-source offline web browser; MiPasa, a leading data analytics, modeling, and collaboration platform; and MetaProvide, the team working on bringing NextCloud to Swarm. In a truly decentralized fashion, the event will be running on StreamETH, which is a decentralized video solution, and local meetups will be streamed live from Rome, Budapest, and Ljubljana.

Swarm Foundation’s Director, Gregor Žavcer, will unveil the final version of the ‘Book of Swarm’ at the event — a comprehensive storage and communication toolkit disclosing the crucial infrastructure for building a self-sovereign digital society. This pioneering framework represents a significant leap forward for the empowerment of a ‘fair data society’. Swarm builders have been working tirelessly to create a complete technological stack that allows developers to create and host dApps, NFT meta-data, and media files on Swarm’s decentralized network. In the past quarter, the Swarm Network has reached landmark levels of performance and functionality, and it is now ready to be employed by the wider industry of users. This summer’s Swarm Summit marks a major milestone for welcoming builders and enterprises to the platform, with the Swarm network recently observing ‘doubled’ growth, hitting 5k nodes and achieving a 0% upload error rate.

Commenting on the event, Gregor Žavcer, Director at Swarm Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to celebrate the evolution of the entire Swarm ecosystem. With a growing global appetite for decentralized, censorship-resistant data storage, we are ready to bring the Swarm network to the next critical phase of growth and bring more much-needed innovation, privacy, and security to data-reliant businesses and budding Web3 enterprises onto the platform. The Swarm Summit was created to draw blockchain enthusiasts and developers together and to provide an open and catalytic forum for moving decentralized data storage forward.”
