Thailand aims to enhance its tech sector and cultivate a culture of entrepreneurship, according to the leader of deVere Group, a prominent global financial advisory, asset management, and fintech organization. The CEO, Nigel Green of deVere attended the annual meeting of the International Advisory Board of Thailand's National Innovation Agency (NIA), which was followed by the inauguration of The Startup x Innovation Thailand Expo 2023 (SITE 2023).

During his visit, Nigel Green, alongside Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in a tour of the country's leading technology event. Subsequently, he delivered a noteworthy keynote address on Thailand's aspirations to become a major fintech hub on a global scale.

Speaking at the NIA's Advisory Board meeting, Green highlighted the immense potential within Thailand's dynamic economy. He emphasized the significance of embracing innovation as a catalyst for sustainable growth and development. By adopting technological advancements and disruptive ideas, Thailand can position itself as a dominant force in the region, attracting international attention and talent.

Nigel Green stressed the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial culture that promotes risk-taking, creativity, and collaboration. By creating a supportive ecosystem for startups and small businesses, Thailand can unlock its citizens' latent entrepreneurial spirit and inspire innovation across various industries.

Furthermore, he emphasized the value of cultivating an international mindset within Thailand's business community. This, he argued, is essential for the country's long-term sustainable economic growth. In an interconnected world, global collaboration and cross-cultural understanding are crucial for identifying new market opportunities and attracting foreign investments. By fostering a business environment that embraces diversity, openness, and global perspectives, Thailand can establish itself as a global hub for startups, technology, innovation, and international trade.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Don Pramudwinai, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that innovation partnerships and collaboration are pivotal in propelling Thailand towards becoming an innovation-driven nation. He recognized that innovation extends beyond mere convenience and is instrumental in enhancing the quality of life, society, and the economy. Promoting a shift from consumers to creators and from passivity to proactivity presents a challenging task for Thailand. However, Pramudwinai expressed optimism and faith in the power of collaboration, recognizing the progress made and the potential for future success.

Green concluded by stating that Thailand possesses remarkable growth potential. By embracing innovation, fostering an entrepreneurial culture, and developing an international mindset, the country can make significant strides forward. By encouraging collaboration between the public and private sectors, an ecosystem that nurtures creativity, fosters innovation, and propels Thailand's economy to new heights can be established.

The NIA expressed enthusiasm and interest in the Green's recommendations during the meeting. They affirmed their commitment to closely collaborate with deVere Group and other stakeholders to implement strategies that promote innovation, entrepreneurial development, and global engagement.
