LG Display has made a groundbreaking achievement in the display industry as its OLED TV and monitor panels have received the prestigious 'Circadian Friendly' certification from TÜV Rheinland, a globally recognized independent testing, inspection, and certification organization.
This certification recognizes products that minimize their impact on people's daily lives and promote better sleep at night.
The 'Circadian Friendly' certification is awarded to products that meet the stringent criteria set by TÜV Rheinland, which includes minimizing disruption to people's biological patterns during the day and supporting healthier sleep patterns at night.
These products undergo rigorous testing based on the 'Circadian Stimulus' metric developed by the Lighting Research Center at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
LG Display's self-emissive OLED TV and monitor panels have now officially achieved the highest rating of 'Circadian Friendly Level (CFL) 1' within the Certification Scheme for display panels. This means that these panels have the least impact on the viewer's biological patterns while ensuring exceptional picture quality.
“LG Display’s innovative OLED panels help people attain a healthier life while enjoying the immersive benefits of exceptional image quality,” said Frank Holzmann, Global Business Field Manager at TÜV Rheinland.
The circadian rhythm refers to the natural biological pattern that occurs in humans over a 24-hour cycle. The use of TVs or smartphones at night can disrupt a person's circadian rhythm, potentially leading to various health issues, including sleep disorders.
LG Display's OLED TV panels are widely acknowledged for emitting the lowest levels of blue light in the industry, delivering a flicker-free viewing experience. These panels have also received the Eyesafe® certification, a collaboration between TÜV Rheinland and Eyesafe Inc., an American eye safety organization. Additionally, LG Display's OLED panels have been verified as 'Flicker Free Display (OLED)' and 'Discomfort Glare Free' by UL, a renowned global safety science company.
“LG Display’s self-emissive OLED technology not only offers unmatched picture quality but also reaffirms its position as a human-centric display through this highly sought-after certification,” said Soo-young Yoon, CTO and Executive Vice President at LG Display. “With a safe display more important to people than ever, we will continue to offer its customers the best viewing experiences by expanding and applying user-friendly technologies to its cutting-edge solutions.”
