In commemoration of its decade-long journey, JB Financial Group has introduced the "Seed Volunteer Group," a collective effort involving executives and employees to enhance social contribution activities through volunteer work, thereby fostering win-win management.
Recently, JB Financial Group hosted an inaugural ceremony for the "Seed Volunteer Group" at the venue of its 10th-anniversary celebration. The event witnessed the attendance of 3,500 executives and employees, including Chairman Kim Ki-hong.
During the ceremony, participants made a solemn pledge to engage with the local community as responsible members of society, as outlined in the manifesto titled "Our Commitment for a Brighter World." Their dedication involved carrying out sincere and continuous volunteer activities.
The volunteer group comprises executives and employees from various JB Financial Group affiliates who voluntarily participate. A consultative body has been established, consisting of six volunteer leaders responsible for guiding the activities of the group.
Members of the volunteer group will have the opportunity to engage in volunteer work of their choice, based on their skills and interests. They can select from different affiliates, regions, and talent classifications to align their participation with their individual preferences.
JB Financial Group has formulated plans to focus on three core areas of social contribution activities starting from the second half of this year. These initiatives will primarily target children and youth from vulnerable backgrounds, including support for multicultural youth and those preparing for self-reliance. The efforts align with the organization's comprehensive social contribution system.
Meanwhiel, in 2021, JB Financial Group established the ESG Committee, which has since been instrumental in overseeing a diverse range of social contribution programs. With a particular emphasis on Jeonbuk Bank and Kwangju Bank, these initiatives encompass over 100 projects, such as support for underprivileged individuals, the development of local talent, job creation in the regional economy, cultural endeavors, and disaster recovery efforts.
