Hite Jinro has announced the tremendous success of its new product, Kelly, in the South Korean beer market, surpassing 100 million bottle sales.
Since its launch in April, Kelly has achieved this milestone in less than 100 days, precisely 99 days. As of July 11, it has accumulated sales of 3.3 million boxes and 100 million bottles (based on a 330ml size). This equates to an astonishing rate of 11.7 bottles sold per second or 2.3 bottles per South Korean adult.
Kelly has broken records in the domestic beer industry, with 1 million boxes sold within a mere 36 days of its launch. It further sold 2 million boxes in 66 days and reached the 3 million box mark in just 90 days, demonstrating a sales rate twice as fast as its competitors.
The introduction of Kelly has had a significant impact on Hite Jinro's overall beer sales, as evidenced by a notable 33% increase in June compared to pre-Kelly levels in March. Similarly, the second quarter of this year saw a commendable 12% growth in sales compared to the same period in the previous year.
In particular, looking at the June actual sales data of some large marts, Hite Jinro's product share based on domestic beer sales recorded about 49.6%, an increase of about 7.0% compared to March.
