KT made an announcement on July 17 regarding the conclusion of its national digital transformation (DX) consulting project for Mongolia.
The final report was presented to key officials from Mongolia's Ministry of Digital Development and Communications at the National Assembly in Ulaanbaatar.
Over the past 10 weeks, KT and the Mongolian government have collaborated on researching DX at the national level. The presentation, organized by the Mongolian Ministry of Digital Affairs, focused on KT's proposed strategy to promote new avenues of growth by strengthening the role of the digital control tower.
Additionally, the discussion covered the implementation plans and expected outcomes of priority projects such as tourism DX and agricultural DX e-government services.
As a result of their collaboration, KT and the Mongolian government have agreed to work together to enhance the digital control tower's role, foster growth engines like tourism DX and agriculture DX, and improve public services and infrastructure. This includes upgrading e-government services and implementing intelligent traffic control.
Currently, the Mongolian government is actively pursuing industrial diversification to reshape its heavily mining-dependent industrial structure. In line with this objective, it introduced the Digital National Plan last year to stimulate new growth engines through nationwide DX and extend its application to various industries.
"We understand that national digital transformation is fundamental to economic development, and the results of this consultation will be of great help to the Mongolian government's DX-related policy decisions in the future," said Erkhembaatar Jargaltsengel, Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs of Mongolia. "We look forward to collaborating with KT to accelerate the pace of DX."
