Samsung Electronics has announced the expansion of its ViewFinity monitor lineup with the introduction of the 27-inch ViewFinity S9 (S90PC model), which will be available worldwide.
This launch further strengthens Samsung's collection of high-resolution monitors, building on the success of the ViewFinity S8 (S80PB model) that was unveiled in June 2022, featuring Ultra High Definition (UHD) resolution. Notably, the ViewFinity S9 has been honored as a CES Innovation Award recipient in 2023 and is specifically optimized with the necessary tools for professionals in graphic design and photography.

The ViewFinity S9 boasts a 27-inch screen with an impressive 5K (5,120 x 2,880) resolution, creating a workspace that is over 50% larger than other UHD monitors, ensuring exceptional picture and text clarity.
This larger screen area allows professionals to work on ultra-high resolution content without the need to zoom in, enabling them to view their projects in stunning 5K while keeping all their editing tools visible on the screen.
To enhance color accuracy and visual fidelity, the ViewFinity S9 provides more saturated and vivid colors with crisper details, catering to the requirements of professionals who rely on precise visual representation.
Samsung's calibration technology plays a crucial role in assisting users to achieve the desired color accuracy. Notably, the ViewFinity S9 introduces the industry's first Smart Calibration feature, which allows users to conveniently customize the screen's settings with their smartphones, eliminating the need for expensive and complex calibration equipment.
By utilizing the SmartThings app, users can select basic mode for quick adjustments of white balance and gamma settings, or professional mode for complete control over color temperature, luminance, color space, and gamma settings. The calibration process involves using the smartphone camera to capture the ViewFinity S9's screen, and upon completion, a detailed report is provided, highlighting the adjustments made and the Delta E color accuracy.
The ViewFinity S9 prioritizes user comfort and eye care with its TUV-certified Intelligent Eye Care features, ensuring reduced eye strain even during extended usage periods. Additionally, Samsung's Matte Display technology minimizes distractions caused by light reflection and glare, further enhancing the user experience.
In addition to its remarkable visual performance, the ViewFinity S9 offers versatile connectivity options for both Mac and Windows PC users. It includes Thunderbolt 4 and mini DisplayPort inputs, alongside USB-C compatibility.
Thunderbolt 4 support allows users to charge devices with up to 90W of power and transfer data at speeds of up to 40 Gbps. Moreover, the monitor comes equipped with a built-in 4K SlimFit camera that connects seamlessly via pogo pin, eliminating the need for additional cables or equipment.
The camera's high resolution ensures crystal clear video quality for applications such as Google Meet, and its adjustable tilt accommodates the monitor's angle, while Auto Framing6 keeps the user visible and in the shot, even with shifting positions.
The height adjustable stand allows users to set the screen at eye level, while the tilting feature facilitates optimal viewing angles. Additionally, the screen can rotate 90 degrees in Pivot mode, enabling users to read lengthy documents with reduced scrolling.
The global availability of the ViewFinity S9 is scheduled for July 26, 2023, with launch dates varying by region.
