LG Electronics (LG) has unveiled its newest LG CLOi ServeBot (model LDLTR30), a smart service robot convenient for places where service is needed, including restaurants.

This cutting-edge robot is designed to provide seamless service in various establishments, featuring an advanced autonomous driving system and a sleek design with upgraded functionalities, the LG CLOi ServeBot is set to revolutionize the way businesses interact with their clientele.

Originally introduced in early 2020, the LG CLOi ServeBot is purpose-built for public spaces like hospitals, office buildings, and restaurants, where human-to-human interaction may not always be ideal.

The latest model boasts exceptional driving performance, thanks to its six wheels and independent suspension system, ensuring smooth navigation across different types of flooring, be it carpet or braille blocks.

With a 3D camera and a light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensor, this smart robot can safely transport beverages and meals, including soups and noodles, even on surfaces with up to a 5-millimeter slope. Its innovative technology allows it to effortlessly maneuver around obstacles, ensuring that the items it carries remain undisturbed.

One of the highlights of the new LG CLOi ServeBot is its increased storage capacity and flexibility. Featuring four easily accessible shelves, including a main drawer, it can handle a collective load of up to 40 kilograms (88 pounds).

The addition of upper pockets and cup holders adds to the convenience factor. Furthermore, the bottom drawer offers extra space for storing essential items like napkins and utensils. For added versatility, the shelves are detachable and adjustable within a range of 2.8 inches.

The LG CLOi ServeBot is not just a workhorse; it's also a brilliant communicator. Equipped with a large 10.1-inch display and a built-in content management system, operators can customize the robot's facial expressions and display relevant videos, images, or text. This enables the ServeBot to communicate valuable information to customers, such as menu recommendations or in-store promotions, and even advertise services from partnering companies.

Moreover, it can provide entertainment during special events and celebrations, showcasing personalized content to create engaging experiences for customers.

By coordinating their movements, these robots optimize service delivery, making sure customers receive top-notch assistance while freeing up human staff to focus on more managerial tasks.

“LG CLOi ServeBot is a reliable partner capable of efficiently carrying out various service delivery tasks, from serving and guiding customers to providing engaging entertainment and useful information,” said Roh Kyu-chan, vice president and head of the robot business division of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. “Leveraging LG’s autonomous robotic technology, we will continue to consistently deliver new and exciting experiences that bring greater value to our customers.”

LG’s new CLOi ServeBot is currently available in the United States and Japan, with plans for a global rollout in the future.
