LG U+ announced on July 26 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with VDCOMPANY, the No. 1 company in South Korea's serving robot market, for the digital transformation of the Korean restaurant industry, and launched its first collaboration product, "U+ Food Serving Robot (PuduBot)".
LG U+ aims to solidify its position in the serving robot market by building a diverse robot lineup and strengthen its business competitiveness based on the capabilities that both companies have accumulated in the distribution and service of serving robots.
PuduBot, which accounts for more than half of the market share of serving robots in Korea, is a serving optimization robot designed to serve beverages and soups, and its large tray can easily serve dozens of side dishes and meals for four people.
In particular, PuduBot works with unmanned and automated solutions to enable store automation beyond simple serving, from menu ordering to checkout.
VDCOMPANY, the first company in Korea to commercialize a serving robot, has been ranked first in the industry since its establishment in 2019.
Meanwhile, through this collaboration, LG U+ will provide an integrated DX solution to revolutionize the in-store experience for SOHO customers.
To make digital transformation easier and more comfortable, LG U+ plans to launch a package product that combines a serving robot, communication products for small businesses, CCTV, and store automation solutions.
