Hyundai Elevator announced on July 27 that it has signed a three-way MOU with KT and LG Electronics to cooperate on robot-elevator linkage business and revitalize the robot industry.
In the agreement, the three companies agreed to discuss mobility innovation, including planning elevator and robot interlocking services, business cooperation to secure competitiveness in robot services, and exploring new businesses.
In 2022, Hyundai Elevator unveiled an open API to link elevators with platforms such as robots and smart devices. Since then, the company has provided services to Yonsei University Medical Center, Yongin Severance Hospital, Seoul National University Hospital in Bundang, Haeundae Chosun Hotel, Shinhan Bank Headquarters, and Hanwha Resort in conjunction with KT's communication and AI voice recognition technology and LG Electronics' robotics technology.
With this agreement, the three companies are expected to lay the foundation for a new industry through the convergence of elevator, communication, and robot technologies, while also gaining competitiveness in the construction of Neom City in Saudi Arabia and the capital relocation project in Indonesia based on the "K-brand" smart building blueprint.
The elevator-robot linkage service can be utilized in various fields. It can be used in various fields such as food delivery service in apartment buildings, room delivery service in hotels, and drug and medicine transportation service in medical facilities.
