LG CNS, a digital transformation (DX) specialist, has formed a three-way alliance to promote enterprise Agile.
On July 28, LG CNS signed a three-way business agreement (MOU) with "Open Source Consulting," an Agile education and service company, and "Scaled Agile," a global No. 1 enterprise Agile framework provider. The three companies will jointly discover and promote application modernization (AM) business opportunities based on enterprise-type agile.
In the IT industry, Agile is a methodology for speeding up software development and a culture of working flexibly and quickly. Agile has been utilized for small projects involving around 50 people or less. It was not easy for large organizations to adopt Agile. This is where enterprise agile comes in, designed to be used for projects with hundreds of people or more.
Scaled Agile has an enterprise agile framework, the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). SAFe has more than 50% of the global market share of enterprise agile and is adopted by 70% of Fortune 100 companies.
LG CNS plans to strengthen its AM business based on SAFe. AM means building and improving applications to meet customer business needs using the latest cloud technologies.
This requires an Agile approach that communicates with customers in real time and reflects their needs in an agile manner. According to the industry, LG CNS is the company that has performed the most AM in Korea.
In 2020, LG CNS established the "Agile Development Team" within the Build Center, a specialized AM organization. Currently, there are about 100 Agile experts across the company, including the Agile development team.
LG CNS has built non-fungible token (NFT) platforms, home appliance applications, and banking systems based on Agile. Through this agreement, LG CNS plans to strengthen its enterprise Agile capabilities by incorporating global best practices of Scaled Agile and foster specialized SAFe consultants.
Open Source Consulting previously partnered with Scaled Agile in 2020 and has since graduated more than 2,000 Agile training graduates.
"This tripartite agreement means that we will take a step forward in the spread of enterprise Agile and jointly promote the AM business," said Tae-hoon Kim, Executive Vice President, Cloud Business Division, LG CNS.
