LG Electronics (LG) is launching the world’s first wireless OLED TV, the 97-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED M (model 97M3).
Currently available in South Korea, this is set to make its mark globally in key markets like North America and Europe later this year.
The TV is also equipped with the Zero Connect Box, an industry-first wireless solution capable of real-time video and audio transmission at 4K 120Hz.
The LG SIGNATURE OLED M represents a true leap forward in cable management, being an OLED TV that is completely free of cables, except for the power cord.
The wireless AV transmission solution developed by LG addresses the challenges faced by users who connect various devices and peripherals, such as gaming consoles and set-top boxes, to their TVs. With the Zero Connect technology, managing cables and connected devices becomes a hassle-free experience.
By eliminating the need for cables and devices to be in close proximity to the screen, users can fully immerse themselves in the expansive screen space without clutter. The 97-inch OLED screen (approximately 245 centimeters diagonal length) and the Zero Connect Box enable AV transmission at 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) and 120Hz refresh rate for distances of up to 10 meters between the TV and the screen.
The Zero Connect Box is a versatile solution supporting multiple connectivity options, including HDMI 2.1, USB, RF, LAN, and Bluetooth. This makes it easy to connect various devices or peripherals like gaming consoles and set-top boxes. To ensure seamless transmission of image and sound, the box intelligently identifies the optimal transmission path and features an adjustable antenna that can be positioned according to the TV's location.
One of the most impressive features of LG's wireless AV transmission solution is its capability to transmit large amounts of data at speeds up to 3 times faster than the existing Wi-Fi 6E standard.
Meanwhile, LG will introduce the 83-inch and 77-inch OLED evo M models with Zero Connect technology, offering superior OLED performance with wireless AV transmission at 4K 120Hz.
