SK Group Senior Vice Chairman Choe Jae-won met with Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Group, to discuss business cooperation.
On Aug. 23, SK Group announced that Choe and Ola Källenius met at the SK Serene Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to discuss ways to expand cooperation on products and services in the electric vehicle business, including electric vehicle batteries and TMAPs.
During the meeting, Choe said that Mercedes-Benz Group is a longtime business partner and major customer of SK, and he hopes that Ola's visit will expand business cooperation between the two companies.
Lee Jong-ho, CEO of Tmap Mobility, a subsidiary of SK Square, also attended the meeting and agreed to strengthen cooperation with Mercedes-Benz. Tmap Mobility will provide real-time traffic information and install Tmap Auto Navigation on Benz vehicles released in Korea after next year.
Earlier, in February, Mercedes-Benz announced its global strategy announcement, stating that it plans to build global mobility map-related cooperation with Google (North America and Europe) and AMAP (China), including Tmap Mobility in the Korean market.
Accordingly, Tmap Mobility plans to expand its cooperation with Benz in the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) market.
