LAS VEGAS - January 5, 2011 -At this year's International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the key item is Tablet PC. While Apple's iPad and Samsung's Galaxy Tab are leading the boom of table PC, other small and big companies are joining this competition.
In response to fierce competition, Samsung Electronic showcased its newest model of tablet PC which is equipped Microsoft Windows 7. It provides easy typing and enhanced productivity and performance with its sliding keyboard.
At the same time, LG Electronics revealed the newest Tablet PC for the first time in the show. This 8.9 inch tablet PC is powered by Andorid 3.0 Honeycomb which is designed especially for tablets. This version cannot work for smartphones. It will be released by NTT Docomo, Japanese mobile operator, in Japan.
Motorola also jumped into this tablet war. Its Android running table, Xoom tablet made a debut on the first day of CES 2011. Apparently LG's tablet is not the only one that runs Honeycomb OS. Xoom also is Honeycomb-based product and so is Toshiba's tablet! These have 10.1 inch LCD display screens.
It is known that about 80 Honeycomb running tablet PC will be shown during CES 2011.
Tablet PC has been raised as the next PC due to its lightness and functionality. Some analysts forecast that the tablet PC market will take over 1/3 of PC market in 2011. Whether one of those tablet PCs could be the killer of iPad or Galaxy Tab, we need to watch to see.
