Bukwang Pharm Co Ltd (Bukwang Pharm) announced that it has opened a new website to strengthen its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management and is actively engaged in ESG management.
Under Bukwang Pharm's philosophy of contributing to the stability of drug supply and contributing to society by producing excellent drugs, the newly opened "ESG section" on the website consists of five categories: Environmental Management, Social Responsibility Management, Governance & Ethics Management, ESG Bulletin Board, and Cyber Newspaper.
Each category provides an overview of various activities and mid- to long-term goals related to ESG management.
The Environmental Management (E) category consists of environmental policy and goals, environmental management system, safety and health management, and green purchasing. In the environmental management system section, the company emphasized that it has established and operated ISO 14001, an international environmental management standard. Through its efforts, Bukwang Pharm has recorded zero violations of environmental laws and regulations in the last three years.
The company also listed its core strategies and tasks to join the national goal of "2050 carbon neutrality". Based on this, the company plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2025, 50% by 2030, and 60% by 2035 to realize carbon neutrality by 2050.
In the Social Responsibility Management (S) section, the company described its operational status and goals in each of the following areas: labor and human rights, social contribution, safety and health management, and sustainable supply chain.
In particular, it disclosed the major activities related to safety and health in the past year in detail, presenting mid- and long-term goals, while also stating that it will continue to carry out safety prevention activities with the goal of maintaining zero (0) major accidents by 2035.
In the Governance & Ethical Management (G) section, Bukwang Pharm transparently disclosed the status of each management system, classified as governance, ethical management, anti-corruption management, compliance program, and information security.
Currently, Bukwang Pharm operates the Compliance Program (CP) Committee, which is composed of professional members with fewer conflicts of interest, to comply with the Fair Trade Compliance Program. The CP Committee makes various efforts to spread Buguang's ethical management culture, including CP compliance review, revision of operating regulations, and education.
