Hyundai Engineering announced on August 29 that it has signed an MOU with Jenti AI, an artificial intelligence R&D startup, to research and develop a Large Language Model (LLM) specialized for the plant and construction sectors.
LLM is a large language model, an artificial intelligence model that can process and generate human-like language, including language understanding and generation. It is the core technology of ChatGPT, a well-known conversational AI service.
Under the agreement, Hyundai Engineering will be responsible for providing data and knowledge information in the field of plant and construction. Jenti AI will be responsible for research and development of AI language models. Applications to utilize the completed LLM in business will be jointly developed by the two companies.
Once the LLM and application development are completed, users can obtain refined data or documents by simply entering questions.
Hyundai Engineering expects the LLM to improve productivity by reducing information search time, streamline work efficiency by automatically generating documents, establish a business support system for risk analysis and technical decision-making, and build an employee training system.
"Our R&D organization, the Smart Technology Center, is promoting digital transformation and IT infrastructure innovation to improve work efficiency at the company-wide level," said an official of Hyundai Engineering. "In addition to the LLM, for which we have signed a research and development agreement, we are planning and developing various smart platforms that can be utilized in each business process based on data assets."
