LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2011- CES2011, world's largest consumer technology tradeshow is ongoing, 3D TV producing companies enticed all the visitors as they bring the latest 3D TVs. 3D TV was already a big buzz last year but seems like visitors are not done with 3D yet.
Among them, outstanding companies are definitely Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics. Based on a strong technology, they lead the 3D TV market in the world.
The world's biggest television maker, Samsung, broadened 3D TV lined up. They offer more affordable sets at the show. It is to expand consumer's demand on 3D TV. Likewise, LG Electronics unveiled its 3D TV called, 'cinema 3D' and glasses-free 3D display prototype mobile digital TV with a 7-inch screen.
Most notable is the technical approach of these 2 major companies. This year, Samsung Electronics developed the shutter glasses in a more traditional approach, while LG Electronics showcased a new 3D FPR (Film Patterned Retarder) which is a futuristic approach.
In addition, Sony, Toshiba and other small companies also lined up for 3D TV. Toshiba's 3D TV technology doesn't need the special 3D glasses. They are already selling its glass-free HDTV in Japan for a while. However, it is the first time to introduce 36 inch model.
Sony also showcased some of glasses-less 3D display. It seems like Sony is into 3D technology as well. Not only 3D high definition TVs, but they also introduced 3D enabled Vaio laptops and 3D capable versions. Sony even made it clear that 3D technology is in its plans for the future.
