Starachowice, Poland - TORSUS, the trailblazers in manufacturing rugged, heavy-duty off-road buses, announces an expansion of its cooperation with MAN Truck & Bus. The development follows a recent agreement naming MAN Truck & Bus as the manufacturer of the robust skeleton chassis for the TORSUS PRAETORIAN. This collaboration has been in the works since 2017, with the shared goal of creating the world's most capable off-road bus.

Known for its excellence in bus manufacturing, MAN Truck & Bus operates a 300,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facility. With a highly skilled workforce of 2,700, this facility has been instrumental in producing some of the world's most innovative buses. Each TORSUS PRAETORIAN skeleton produced at this site is meticulously crafted to meet the diverse needs of customers around the world.

Using manufacturing processes and techniques similar to those used in its own buses, MAN Truck & Bus employs uses shielding gases during the precision welding process for the PRAETORIAN's skeleton. This process is followed by cataphoretic painting for corrosion protection, painting and a final coat of paint. This comprehensive approach ensures that the product meets the highest quality standards when it leaves the factory, before being  shipped to TORSUS' dedicated facility in Horné Srnie, Slovakia, for final assembly.

Designed to safely transport up to 35 passengers and their equipment over some of the world's most rugged terrain, the PRAETORIAN is a 10-ton 4x4 off-road bus built on an upgraded, heavy-duty MAN TGM chassis. Powering this behemoth is a 6.9 -liter, six-cylinder MAN diesel engine that produces 286 hp and 1,150 Nm of torque, along with a heavy-duty 4x4 off-road transmission, that allows the bus  to effortlessly conquer steep climb grades of up to 65 percent. The PRAETORIAN has been meticulously designed to conquer any terrain, in any weather anywhere in the world.

MAN Truck & Bus's Starachowice plant is a busy hub, churning producing over 1,600 buses and 520 bus chassis per year. These vehicles are exported to customers around the world, including countries such as Germany, France, Georgia, Norway, Sweden, and Saudi Arabia, demonstrating the international reach and impact of this collaboration.
