Shinhan Bank announced on September 22 that it has successfully completed the construction of a digital document storage system in connection with KT's Certified Electronic Document Center.
The Certified Electronic Document Center is a service that safely stores electronic documents and certifies their contents and sending/receiving history during the storage period, and was officially certified by KT as a nationally designated service provider in April last year.
By using KT's certified e-document center, the legal original validity of stored documents can be recognized, and information such as the registration history of documents can be managed to increase reliability. In addition, registration and viewing can be done in real time, increasing business convenience.
In September last year, Shinhan Bank signed a strategic partnership with KT to jointly discover business opportunities centered on certified electronic document centers and accelerate DT innovation. Since then, Shinhan Bank has built a new digital document storage system by combining KT's blockchain technology with Shinhan Bank's document management know-how.
With the implementation of the new digital document storage system, Shinhan Bank will electronically store important documents that were previously stored in the bank's library in a certified electronic document center, and the electronic document information will be stored more securely by preventing damage, loss, and forgery through blockchain technology.
In addition, the bank will be able to practice ESG management and efficiently utilize the space used to store documents by saving resources generated by storing and managing paper documents.
