Huawei Connect 2023 commenced in Shanghai, serving as a global gathering on  September 22, for business leaders, tech experts, partners, developers, and industry stakeholders. The event's primary focus is to explore new avenues for realizing an intelligent future.

Sabrina Meng, Deputy Chairwoman, Rotating Chairwoman, and CFO of Huawei, presented the company's comprehensive All Intelligence strategy during the event. She detailed Huawei's ongoing endeavors to delve deeply into fundamental AI technologies and build a robust computing foundation for China and the world. This infrastructure aims to support a wide range of AI models and applications across various industries.

At Huawei Connect 2023, the company unveiled a reference architecture to drive intelligent transformation, along with a range of associated products and solutions. The reference architecture is outlined in Huawei's latest white paper titled "Accelerating Intelligent Transformation," providing practical guidance and references to assist industries in harnessing the power of intelligence.

Huawei's All Intelligence strategy is two decades of technological advancement, beginning with the All IP strategy for informatization and the subsequent All Cloud strategy for digitalization. In the era of burgeoning artificial intelligence, the All Intelligence strategy is strategically designed to enable industries to seize new opportunities brought about by AI.

A pivotal component of this strategy is the massive computing power needed to train basic models tailored to different industries. Sabrina Meng emphasized Huawei's commitment to creating a robust computational backbone, both domestically in China and as an option globally. The goal is to foster synergy between hardware, software, chips, edge computing, devices, and cloud services, to create a thriving ecosystem. The ultimate goal is to meet the diverse AI computing requirements of myriad industries.

Meng further articulated Huawei's future direction, highlighting the company's intention to focus on areas where it excels and work closely with customers, partners, developers, and stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge, user-friendly industry solutions. These collaborative efforts will ensure digital security and trustworthiness while accelerating the integration of intelligence across all sectors.

In her closing remarks, Meng emphasized the importance of competence, unity, and courage in building a successful future together.

Following Sabrina Meng's emphasis, David Wang, Executive Director of the Board at Huawei and Chairman of the ICT Infrastructure Managing Board, took the stage to announce the launch of the Huawei Atlas 900 SuperCluster. This new addition to Huawei's Ascend series of computing products features a groundbreaking architecture optimized for training massive AI basic models with over one trillion parameters. The Atlas 900 SuperCluster is equipped with Huawei's cutting-edge Xinghe Network CloudEngine XH16800 switch and high-density 800GE ports. Its innovative super node architecture significantly enhances computating power, bringing the speed and efficiency of basic model training to an unprecedented level.

Additionally, Huawei's extensive expertise in computing, storage, networking, and power has been channeled to enhance system reliability at all levels, from components to clusters and services. This reliability is paramount for the continuous training of massive foundation models, extending their capability from several days to over a month.

David Wang emphasized the unfolding of a new era in intelligent transformation, full of opportunities and challenges. He urged collaboration, deep exploration of industry-specific scenarios, and a solid computing infrastructure to support a variety of new AI models and applications in the journey to intelligence across industries.

During his keynote speech, Wang introduced nine new intelligent industry solutions developed in collaboration with Huawei's customers and partners. These solutions are tailored to meet the unique requirements of various sectors, including finance, government, manufacturing, energy, and railway. Huawei released a white paper titled "Accelerating Intelligent Transformation," which includes case studies and best practices to accelerate the adoption of new forms of intelligence across industries.

In a remarkable collaboration, Huawei joined forces with China West Airport Group (CWAG) to formulate a comprehensive intelligent transformation strategy. This partnership has resulted in 35 intelligent solutions covering security, operations, services, and other  more, leveraging Huawei's high-performance computing power and open intelligent platforms, as well as advanced industry-specific algorithms. One notable achievement is the intelligent ground handling solution, which enhances efficiency by issuing predictions and alerts based on real-time flight, passenger, and resource data, resulting in a 20% improvement in ground handling efficiency and a 17% reduction in turnaround time. Another solution optimizes flight planning using AI-based operational commands, to effectively match supply and demand.
