Denver, Colorado — COZ, a Web3 software development company at the forefront blockchain and NFT applications, and DENVER WALLS, part of the World Wide Walls international street art festival series, have joined forces to bring interactive art experiences backed by blockchain to the city of Denver, Colorado. Sponsored by the RiNo Art District and running from 22nd September to 3rd October, DENVER WALLS 2023 will showcase the talents of world-class muralists while enhancing community regeneration efforts.

In total, 18 local creators and artists from across the globe will complete 17 commissioned murals in Denver City over the course of the 11-day event. Each mural will be paired with a bronze wall plaque mounted alongside the art with information about the work and its sponsor. In partnership with AxLabs, COZ has embedded non-fungible item (NFI) technology in each plaque to allow users to tap scan their smartphone and collect points for visiting the murals. Points can then be redeemed at local businesses in the district such as greengrocers or micro-breweries for special discounts.

Tyler Adams, Co-founder of COZ, said: “The DENVER WALLS festival showcases how NFI technology can frictionlessly enhance local and artistic experiences in a meaningful way. The creative and eye-catching murals commissioned through this festival will help breathe character and life into Denver’s urban areas, infusing a blockchain-backed richer experience for those curious to learn more just adds to the benefit for local communities. Through collaborations such as this, COZ hopes to prove that you don’t have to be a crypto expert to benefit from the possibilities enabled by Web3.”

Denver will be the 25th city to host a World Wide Walls event, joining international locations such as Honolulu, Seoul, and Tokyo. Spearheaded by local artist A.L. Grime, the event will showcase a diverse range of activities that celebrate various expressions of street art, including a paint battle, artist panels and workshops, pop-up gallery shows, and more. A full list of event programming is available on the DENVER WALLS website.

Ally Grimm, Street Artist and Director of DENVER WALLS said: “The goal of DENVER WALLS is to rejuvenate our urban environments and elevate Denver’s reputation for artistic expression and community spirit. Working with the COZ team to incorporate a digital element into each mural that supports local businesses and enriches the viewer's experience was a no-brainer when the opportunity arose. Together, we’re helping to push Denver to the forefront of creative and technical innovation.”
