The Hashgraph Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the global adoption of the Hedera network, announced a strategic partnership with Dar Blockchain, aiming to nurture talent and promote innovation within the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region's burgeoning blockchain ecosystem.

This collaboration between The Hashgraph Association and Dar Blockchain is primarily focused on fostering Web3 talent across MENA. To achieve this, they will facilitate various activities such as meetups, hackathons, university groups, and a monthly podcast. The central goal is to drive innovation within the region, playing a pivotal role in the global expansion of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and blockchain.

Working in tandem, Dar Blockchain and The Hashgraph Association will provide valuable insights into blockchain ecosystems while promoting the Hedera network, recognized for its innovation and suitability for enterprise-grade public ledger applications in the decentralized economy. The partnership also includes plans to host four hackathons, commencing in October 2023, as part of a broader strategy that encompasses community-building initiatives and a sourcing phase for an upcoming incubation program tailored to the North African community. This forthcoming incubation program aims to further support and nurture promising projects that emerge from these hackathons. Additionally, the collaboration will offer customized training sessions to fuel the growth of communities and businesses while showcasing the boundless possibilities of Web3.

Co-founders of Dar Blockchain, Mohamed Mnif and Jaafar Saied, emphasized the importance of education in fostering innovation, stating, "Our foundation at Dar Blockchain is built on the belief that education is the cornerstone of innovation. We were established with a clear vision: to support and nurture local talents while forging a vital connection between our local Web3 ecosystem and the global blockchain landscape." Their vision is to empower the next generation of innovators across the MENA region, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to drive the widespread adoption of Web3 technologies worldwide.

The MENA region has recently emerged as a frontrunner in Web3 growth and innovation. In October 2022, it was recognized as the home to the world's fastest-growing cryptocurrency markets. In August 2023, the Dubai AI and Web 3.0 Campus announced a substantial reduction in license fees for Web3 and AI firms, aiming to attract companies and organizations to the city.

Kamal Youssefi, President of The Hashgraph Association, expressed his optimism about the partnership, stating, "The Hashgraph Association's partnership with Dar Blockchain will accelerate the mass adoption of DLT in the MENA region. With the favorable outlook on crypto in the region, we wish to support this growth and ensure its continued upward momentum. It is a result of this openness to Web3 that we are partnering with Dar Blockchain and committing to advance the MENA Web3 industry."

Through their collective efforts, Dar Blockchain and The Hashgraph Association aspire to provide a solid foundation for those interested in the Web3 landscape. By establishing avenues for nurturing Web3 talent in MENA, they aim to further propel the region's blockchain industry and solidify its position as a global leader in the field.
