LS Cable & System announced on Oct. 16 that it has won an ultra-high voltage cable project worth about KRW 130 billion won from the Singapore Electricity Authority.

LS Cable & System has won a total of about KRW 350 billion won in Singapore this year, making it the No. 1 player in Asia's largest high-voltage market. Singapore's electricity grid is composed of underground cables that pass under the ground without building transmission towers. Competition is fierce among global cable companies from Europe and elsewhere for high-value-added underground cable business.

LS Cable & System has been actively targeting the Singapore market since 2010 and has established itself as a key supplier with the No. 1 market share.

"Unlike general consumer products, we have been able to achieve the number one position in the high-voltage cable market, where durability, stability, and reliability are important, through efforts to improve customer satisfaction, including stable quality control," said an LS Cable & System official.

The project is a turnkey project that includes cable delivery, construction, and installation. The cables will be supplied by LS Cable & System for 230kV and above, and by LS Cable & System Asia for 66kV and below.
