SK Telecom has provided private delegations from around the world visiting South Korea with the opportunity to experience its technology-based AI innovations and shared training programs for young people to become AI technology experts.
SK Telecom announced on Nov. 2 that it shared various AI-based experience programs and training courses with more than 100 delegates from ASEAN+3 member states and the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Center for Human Resources Development at its Boramae office in Seoul.
The training was held for participants of the Human Resource Development (HRD) Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the World Bank, and organized by the Korea Institute of Industrial Manpower.
The participants, representing 13 countries including Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, and the Philippines, as well as three countries from Korea, China, and Japan, showed interest in vocational education and training in the era of digital transformation.
Participants experienced various AI technologies and services at the K-Digital Platform, operated by SKT in partnership with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Industrial Manpower Corporation, and received explanations on the process of operating the AI workforce training program.
The K-Digital Platform consists of the "AI Tech Lab," an exhibition and experience space where SKT's innovative technologies are gathered, and the K-Digital Training (FLY AI) course, which trains young people to become AI developers.
At the AI Tech Lab, visitors experienced SKT's various innovative technology solutions, including Sapeon, an AI semiconductor; Supernova, which improves low-resolution photos, audio, and videos to high-definition; Vision AI (AI Care for All), which informs the control center of customer risk situations based on AI deep learning; and Machine Vision, an AI quality inspection solution that detects quality defects in the appearance of products produced in factories.
SK Telecom said that it will continue to provide opportunities for policy makers from various countries visiting the K-Digital Platform to share vocational education and training systems related to digital transformation and to experience SKT's latest AI services and curriculum for training AI technology experts.
